WHAT: A family returns home from a vacation to the Grand Canyon to find they’ve brought an evil spirit with them.

WHAT: A Jim Cramer-type TV host is taken hostage on air by a man who lost his family’s life savings on one of his bad tips.

THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE

WHO: Jason Sudeikis, Kate McKinnon, Bill Hader, Danny McBride, Josh Gad
WHAT: The app nobody could stop playing in 2010 now arrives in animated-feature form, with Jason Sudeikis leading the avian charge against an invasion of pigs.
WHEN: May 20 


NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING

WHO: Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Chloë Grace Moretz, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez
WHAT: One of the funniest comedies of recent years gets a sequel that finds thirty-somethings Mac (Rogen) and Kelly (Byrne) now at war with a sorority next door and recruiting the help of their former neighbour and frat brother, Teddy (Efron).

 THE NICE GUYS

WHO: Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling
WHAT: A spiritual sequel to the hysterical Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, Shane Black’s The Nice Guys teams a thug-for-hire (Crowe) with a down-and-out private eye (Gosling) as they try to find a missing girl in 1970s L.A.

ALICE THROUGH
THE LOOKING GLASS

WHO: Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway
WHAT: Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland sparked the current trend of live-action adaptations of Disney movies in 2010. Now, Alice (Wasikowska) returns to Underland (sans Burton) to tackle Lewis Carroll’s significantly more bonkers sequel, wherein Alice must save the Mad Hatter (Depp) from the whimsical machinations of Time (Cohen).

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

WHO: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Munn
WHAT: The concluding chapter to the new trilogy that began with X-Men: First Class and continued with X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse pits Professor X’s (McAvoy) team of superheroes against the very first mutant: an immortal, invincible god with a temper problem.
