After the smash success of Gareth Edwards’ 2014 Godzilla reboot, fans have been waiting with baited breath for Godzilla 2, which was planned for a June 2018 release.
Word has come out that Godzilla 2 will now be released in March 2019, but it comes with news of another title arriving the year after: Godzilla vs. Kong.

Godzilla was the launch movie for Warner Bros.’s kaiju movie universe. The second was always going to be (and remains) Kong: Skull Island, a reboot of the other famous giant movie monster, King Kong.
Godzilla 2 was to come out one year after 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, but in the wake of Paramount setting up Transformers 6 on the same June 2018 weekend, Warner Bros. has changed their schedule
With this announcement also comes official confirmation of Godzilla vs. Kong — which up until now had been rumoured but not confirmed — with a May 2020 release date.
