Much was written about the dubious record set by the first trailer for Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot, as the most disliked movie trailer in YouTube history.
Nowhere to go but up, right?
On the heels of three comedies opening wide this Friday, the second trailer has been released, clearly looking to put a better foot forward this time.
Some of the same beats are covered as in the first trailer, but this time, in lieu of showing how the four paranormal investigators get together, we’re treated to less jokes and more action.
Melissa McCarthy’s in-movie dialogue serves as the narration to a better showcase of what looks to be in store for audiences in another two months.
Chris Hemsworth, briefly shown in the first trailer, now gets some lines and a second dimension. What’s more, the additional scenes hint his character may not just be the new version of the receptionist Janine (originally played by Annie Potts) but an amalgam of her and the nerdy Louis Tully (originally played Rick Moranis).
And keep your eyes peeled around the 2:05 mark, for the first full reveal of the new big baddie of the picture, the monstrous Rowan.
