Anton Yelchin, star of Charlie Bartlett, Alpha Dog, and the rebooted Star Trek trilogy, passed away Sunday morning in what police believe was a freak accident.

Yelchin was found outside his home in the San Fernando Valley at around 1:00 AM by friends. He was pinned between his car and a brick mailbox pillar.

Yelchin’s driveway had a steep incline. When police arrived on the scene, they found the engine running and the car in neutral. Foul play is not suspected. 

Yelchin had five recent film projects yet to be released, including next month’s Star Trek Beyond.

Yelchin’s family has requested privacy at this time.
