The third thriller centered on symbologist Robert Langdon, Inferno, arrives in theatres October 28. With just four months until its release, Sony Pictures has debuted not one but two trailers to spread the word.
The North American trailer focuses on Ron Howard’s intense action, in the race to stop a man-made plague designed to cure overpopulation.
The international trailer centers more on the character of Langdon himself, played previously by Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons.
Brown’s 2013 thriller is technically the fourth Robert Langdon story, with 2009’s The Lost Symbol remained unadapted at present. Worth noting, though, is The Da Vinci Code was adapted for film before Angels & Demons was, despite the latter being written first.
The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons earned a combined $1.24-billion globally upon their 2006 and 2009 releases.
